VICTORIAN DISABILITY FORUM
Date and time:
Thursday 7th August
10am – 12pm
Venue:
Hayden Raysmith Room, Level 4 Ross House and on Zoom (Hybrid meeting)
DPO Victoria and Disability Advocacy Victoria, the Victorian disability advocacy peak body, are hosting a forum to discuss resetting the relationship between the disability community and the Victorian government.
Members of the disability community and the disability advocacy sector have been disappointed about the lack of progress on transport, education, and a host of other areas where successive Disability State Plans have failed to make a difference.
At the same time, very little action has been taken on the important Disability Royal Commission recommendations or the struggles of the disability advocacy sector to meet the needs of Victorians with disabilities.
We believe the time is right to come together and make some decisions about the way forward.
This event is not restricted to members of particular organisations – if you are a person with a disability or a disability advocate who has concerns about disability rights in Victoria, we would love to see you there.
Auslan interpreters booked and captions available.
If you would like a Social Story or Plain English Meeting Notes please contact admin@disabilityadvocacyvic.org.au.
