Join the Disability Movement in Victoria

Disability Forum + Link to Join the Campaign

On Thursday 7th August Disability Advocacy Victoria and Disabled Peoples Organisations Victoria co-hosted a forum to discuss ways forward for the disability movement in Victoria.

We talked about the need for unity, the role of allies and the importance of recognising and understanding disability culture.

We acknowledged the current inhospitable political environment and what meaningful engagement means to us.

With the next state election looming, the time is ripe for the disability sector and the disability community to work together to build relationships and lobby for better safeguarding and the implementation of the Disability Royal Commission recommendations.

If you haven’t done so already, you can sign up to join the movement here. This short form is stage one of our mapping process.  It will help us gather people according to their electorate, and understand what all of our priorities are.
